Valarie Chris Dungan, age 65, of Alton, IL, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Edwardsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Edwardsville, IL. Valarie was born on September 30, 1951 in Granite City, IL, a daughter of the late Vladimir J. "Val" Volrab and Lou J. (Hunsell) Volrab.

Valarie worked at Scott Trade Center, St. Louis, MO in the Guest Services Department, retiring after many years of dedicated service. She enjoyed traveling, making crafts, listening to music and collecting penguin figurines. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Valarie loved life, she loved to laugh, but most of all she loved her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Amy Dungan of Alton, IL; dear brother, Emanuel "Manny" Volrab of Edwardsville, IL; proud aunt to Lori (Brian) Roever of Edwardsville, IL; proud great-aunt to Jordan Volrab and Logan Roever; extended family and many wonderful friends.

Memorial visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road, Glen Carbon, IL.

In celebration of her life, memorial services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Chaplain Bruce Baumberger officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, IL.

Memorial donations may be given to the Wounded Warrior Project or to Granite City A.P.A. and donations will be accepted at the funeral chapel.
