Geraldine E. "Gerry" Davis, 62, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2012 in Troy, Illinois from injuries sustained in a car accident.

She was born February 4, 1950 in Granite City, a daughter of the late Chester and Vera (Meyers) Whyers. She married Walter "Fred" Davis in 1981 in Mitchell and he preceded her in death in 2004.

She was a previous owner of the Luna Café in Mitchell and retired in 2006 from S.I.U.E. after many years of dedication in food service to the college.
She was a member of the Pontoon Beach AMVETS Post #51 and enjoyed cross stitching and playing poker. She enjoyed her days spent at the Harbor Light Bay at Carlyle Lake and spending time with her grandchildren.
She will be remembered for the love and special times spent with her family and friends.

She is survived by four children, Dawn Rapp and significant other, David Disselhorst of Granite City, Monty Rapp and wife, Jeannine of Granite City, Crystal Loepker and husband, David of Bartelso, Illinois and Vera Davis of Granite City; seven grandchildren, Kendra, Chandler, Jacob, Jared, Hunter, Chelsea and Nick; one great grandson, Austin; one sister, Patricia Evans and husband, David of Pewaukee, Wisconsin; one brother, Chester Whyers and wife, Patricia of Odin, Illinois; other extended family and friends.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend Brian Smith officiating.

Memorials may be made to the family and may be accepted at the funeral home.
